A Better Tomorrow

We strive to be a leading advocate for patient-centered care, influencing policy and healthcare practices to ensure that every cancer patient receives compassionate, inclusive, and effective treatment. For years, the HungerNdThirst Foundation has been recognized for its strong focus on cancer advocacy, ensuring that the patient voice is heard in clinical research, policy, and care. While this remains a core part of our mission, we recognize the growing need for a holistic, patient-centered approach that acknowledges the complexity of comorbidities and the interconnected nature of diseases.

Powered by Purpose

Through advocacy, research, and collaboration, we aim to improve healthcare by prioritizing patient perspectives, ensuring inclusivity, and promoting innovative, evidence-based approaches to care.

Our Commitment

  • Diversity & Inclusion: Promoting Healthcare Equity for all patients and patient groups.
  • Nutrition & Malnutrition Awareness: Addressing nutritional disparities and advocating for better patient support.
  • Healthcare Improvement: Driving innovations and patient-centered care enhancements.

Together, we are shaping a healthcare system that listens to, respects, and prioritizes the needs of patients.

Making an Impact

Patient Empowerment

At the Patient Inclusive Advocacy Foundation (PIAF), we work to ensure that patients’ voices are heard and valued in every aspect of healthcare. Through advocacy, research, and collaboration, we strive to create a more inclusive and patient-centered healthcare system. We focus on three core areas.

Patient Inclusive Advocacy Foundation (PIAF)

Advocating for Diversity and Inclusion in Healthcare

We promote equitable healthcare for all, ensuring that factors like socioeconomic status, ethnicity, gender, or health conditions do not limit access to quality care. By working with policymakers, healthcare providers, and industry leaders, we advocate for inclusive policies that enhance patient outcomes and strengthen trust in the healthcare system. We view our involvement in the European Cancer Organisation’s Survivorship and Quality of Life Network as well as the Inequalies Network, as an opportunity to reinforce our values and actively contribute to meaningful change.

Addressing Nutrition and Malnutrition in Patient Care

Malnutrition remains a serious yet frequently overlooked issue in healthcare. We strive to raise awareness and develop solutions to combat undernutrition, particularly among vulnerable groups such as cancer patients, older adults, and individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our efforts focus on education, policy advocacy, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition into routine care. To highlight taste alteration—a common contributor to malnutrition during cancer treatment—the Foundation created ATE Cookies® (Awareness Through Experience).

Driving Patient-Centered Healthcare Innovation

Innovation is essential to improving patient outcomes and experiences. We collaborate with research institutions, advisory boards, and industry stakeholders to ensure that patient perspectives shape the development of new treatments, digital health solutions, and policy initiatives. By participating in committees and advisory groups, we help connect scientific advancement with real-world patient needs. As a member of the European Association of Urology Patient Advocacy Group (EPAG), we support efforts to place patients and advocates at the heart of developing accessible information, raising awareness, and enhancing education.

Ripples of Change

With experience in organizations such as the European Association of Urology Patient Advisory Group, GSK Health Advisory Board, Gravitate Health Legal and Ethical Board, and ASCO / Conquer Cancer Reviewer Committee, our team plays an active role in shaping patient-centered healthcare policies.

The Impact:

  • Actively shaping healthcare policy and research through membership in influential advisory groups.
  • Driving global dialogue on patient participation, nutrition, and inclusive healthcare practices.
  • Advancing patient care by developing and promoting evidence-based policy recommendations.

Through our work, we are transforming healthcare to be more inclusive, responsive, and patient-driven—because every patient deserves to be heard.

About us

Founded on February 25, 2016, the HungerNdThirst Foundation is the vision of Robert Greene – a former nurse and two-time cancer survivor. His own cancer journey revealed something he hadn’t fully grasped, even as a healthcare professional: the life-altering impact of taste changes during treatment. What began as a personal realization has grown into a mission to raise awareness, inspire empathy, and support those affected by cancer.
